Technical Publications Specialist - Database

Summary/Objective:  The Technical Publications Specialist - Database is responsible for maintaining the departmental database.
Essential Functions:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
·         Receive revisions and temporary revisions from aircraft manufacturers, vendors and PSA manuals.
·         Update database with revision information.
·         Record receipt of revision acknowledgement sheets in database, and contact manual holders who do not return acknowledgement sheet in required timeframe.
·         Update paper manuals when a new revision is issued and prepare manuals for swap out on aircraft; track manuals during swap out; update manuals taken off the aircraft and return to cabinet. Perform annual audit on paper manuals.  
·         Provide Stores with Tech Pubs’ documents (emergency stock manuals, laminated cards) as requested.
·         Ensure manuals needed for installation on new aircraft are sent to DAY Hangar prior to arrival of new aircraft.
·         Acquire vendor CMMs as requested by Maintenance and complete yearly audit of vendor CMMs.
·         Fill requests for replacement pages from flight attendants and send to appropriate crew base.
·         Assist other Technical Publication Specialists as needed, which may include Maintenance base audits, building Flight Attendant Manuals for new hire classes, and auditing returned Flight Attendant Manuals.
·         Other projects as assigned.
Competencies and Knowledge:  The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following:  good organizational and communication skills; strong attention to detail; approachability; problem solving; ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; professional aptitude; multi-tasking and adaptability in an aggressive growth environment. Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.

Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 40 lbs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00.  Occasional evenings or weekends may be required to meet job requirements (deadlines and/or travel).
Travel:  Minimal to no travel required.
Required Education and Experience:  Associates Degree or equivalent work experience; experience using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office programs. Minimum two years’ experience working with detailed digital / hard copy documentation. 
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:  Intermediate internet skills; Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Good customer service skills.
