Reports to: Repair and Warranty Manager
 
Summary/Objective:  The Warranty Analyst is responsible for review of all repair orders, purchases, service bulletins, and reliability related failures to ensure that all potential warranty is identified and captured, claimed and adjudicated until resolution.  This will also apply to parts consumption review at Heavy Check and on all new aircraft that are under warranty.  The Analyst will compile data to support KPI’s relative to warranty capture and vendor response time.

  • Proactively manage repair and overhaul services to include purchases for aircraft components to ensure proper warranty adjudication.
  • Facilitate the review of technical data and publications to include Service Bulletins, Service Information Letters, Service News Letters, Component Maintenance Manuals, etc., for potential warranty claims.
  • Review all tear down and quotations to ensure warranty was granted or denied with a valid reason.  Dispute with vendors for all warranty claims denied without a valid reason or partially accepted.
  • Identify and review new sources of supply (Purchase Vendors) for their warranty terms and processes.  Investigate the potential to re-negotiate vendor warranty terms and policies.
  • Review supplier score metrics in conjunction with reliability for potential warranty claims.  Validate increase reliability utilizing Service Bulletins and Service Information Letters to ensure a positive component performance.
  • Monitor improvement processes and initiatives (internal and external action items) to ensure they meet the intent of the Warranty Department and PSA Airlines objectives.
  • Track potential warranties, Free of Charge Service Bulletins, Free of Charge Labor repairs, and all warranty claims on the Warranty Departments tracking sheet
  • Ensure the timely review of end-of-the-month warranty reviews for current ERP system (Merlin, Mxi) repair orders.  Ensure the database is updated by the end of the month and all pending warranty repair orders have remarks showing status.
  • Ensure on a bi-monthly basis that all systems related to warranty tracking in the current ERP system reflect the most current vendor repair warranty, new purchase warranty, and newly purchased aircraft.
  • Train and support Repair and Warranty personnel, Inventory Planning personnel in the proper procedures to submit warranty claims and reasons for submission (Terms IAW Purchase Warranty Agreements and Component Warranties from the OEM’s, Previous Repairs at an MRO, New Aircraft, Contract Interpretation, etc.).
  • Track and reduce no fault found and customer induced damage instances.
  • Monitor operator support and service agreements.
  • Review MRO RFP’s for warranty terms and conditions to ensure favorable terms are included or expanded.
  • Review various metrics to include internal TAT, external TAT, open activity, aging reports and cost analysis for potential claims.
  • Develop expertise regarding vendors and OEM warranty terms and the industry standard warranty terms.  Utilize research and analysis of current contracts and agreements internally and externally to provide the best form, fit, and function for PSA Airlines.
  • Build an internal library of references for the Warranty Department team.  This will include all processes and procedures for daily operation of the department.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:  This is not a supervisory position.
 
Work Environment:  This job operates approximately 85% of the time inside a climate controlled building and approximately 15% of the time outside in all types of weather.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; bend/stoop; occasionally push/pull and lift weight up to 75 lbs; use hands to grasp, finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  On rare occasions may be required to crawl, use fine manipulations, kneeling, and repetitive motion.
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full-time position with an expectation of occasional evening and weekend hours as job duties demand.    
 
Travel:  Some travel will be expected with this position.
 
Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Aerospace Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years significant procurement, supply chain experience, repair, or related warranty experience
  • Proven cross functional project management experience
  • Aviation knowledge and aviation maintenance experience – a plus
  • A team player within department with cross functional teams such as Aviation Engineering, Maintenance, and Reliability – a must
  • Ability to understand complex contracts and summarize key terms
  • Must be self-starter and deadline driven
  • Exceptional computer, analytical, and research skills
  • Ability to interface with senior management and assist in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Ability to analyze cost drivers and develop / implement cost reduction strategies for future component repairs and/or purchases pertaining to warranty
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • Proficient in computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:  Must be able to obtain airport SIDA badging, and able to read blueprint and electrical schematics required.
